And it’s the quality of your content that will determine whether or not your website visitors take action when researching your offer.

I’m a professional writer and published author, and have studied feature writing at City University. I’m the author of Get Up to Speed with Online Marketing (Pearson Business, 2013), and have written feature articles for trade press. I’ve also written hundreds of SEO-friendly articles, web pages and blog posts for a range of clients, audiences and sectors. I’ve also written white papers, ebooks, PDF resources, corporate brochures, email newsletters and more.

Other web content experience

I can write quickly and to a house style. I can even write a house style. Having worked in publishing for 10 years, I’m also an experienced editor, and can turn rough copy into clear, well-structured, readable articles and blog posts with keywords and calls to action. I write in natural and engaging language but adhering to your brand’s tone of voice and SEO principles.

I’m experienced with Adobe Creative cloud apps and content management systems (CMS) – particularly WordPress. I know HTML and CSS, and have coded websites and WordPress themes from scratch. I have also run my own content-rich website, Publishing Talk, an educational, events and membership site for authors since 2007. This is a multi-author blog built on WordPress, and I commission and edit posts as well as write them.

I’ve taught writing for blogs and social media at several universities, including UCL and Birkbeck. In my spare time I enjoy screenwriting, and am represented by Curtis Brown.

What can you write about?

I can research and write about any topic you give me. My ‘own’ work-related topics include marketing, business, publishing, digital media, social media, psychology and education. But I have also written on diverse topics for a range of businesses, including men’s fashion, upcycling and gardening.

My academic background is in psychology and international relations. I published books in health and social sciences for 10 years. I’m interested in politics, philosophy, film and TV, travel, science, nature, photography, music, food, languages and more.
